Beecher W Reuning is a writer/director living in Southeast, TN with his wife April (a feature film producer) and two daughters. He serves on the Cinema Faculty at Lee University and is passionate about furthering the craft of cinematic storytelling through his own work as well as his students'.
He started like most filmmakers, writing story outlines on scrap paper and using his parents' camcorder to create no-budget music videos. In his undergraduate studies, he embraced the importance of rewriting and collaborating with others. This elevated his work to the point he received a full scholarship to obtain a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Virginia. While there, he seized the opportunity to work on other student productions where he learned, practically, what worked and what didn't. The three short films he wrote and directed during graduate school played in 31 festivals, won 18 awards, and received theatrical distribution in 30 countries.
Upon receiving his MFA degree, he took a position creating commercial content for his alma mater. His advertisements and music videos received millions of views and won several Telly Awards. Currently he teaches on the Cinema Faculty at Lee University while working on developing several feature screenplays with the hopes of directing one soon.
